The sunlight only really mattered for me when the trees started appearing. It was only more important to take out those early trees fast. No other pokes made good enough use of the sunlight to justify rain dance and drop the effectiveness of fire moves. The standard teams for this fight seem to be just 2 standard boosted attackers and someone especially strong like a legendary or high SA psychic to take out Venusaur fast. Nothing really that special or hard. |

I just tried shuckle out, it's pretty dang strong. 1002 damage with Power Trick and +2 attack (Helping Hand) Thing is Moonblast hits the opponent multiple times. So an unboosted Xerneas will still do more. I'm hoping to grind for the TM flamethrower, then try with 3 Volcaronas |

I dont know how Sam's de-buffed it but Fire Blast is stronger DPS wise then flamethrower, at least on the 1st opponent it hits, including the probability of missing. I failed with Arcanine first time using Flamethrower but won when I switched to Fire Blast

Not really it was a pretty straightforward fight. Shuckle was the best attacker against the pure grasses. A little touch and go until Helping Hand maxed out but nothing too hard. Maybe Alakazam instead of Metagross would be better. What part did you struggle with? |

what would be the best in-game catchable team ? And would a team with: 2 Lapras with ability Hydration and moves Icebeam and Raindance + a helping hand pokemon be efficient ? I keep on getting two advertisements when I train. They keep on freezing my game that is why I do not want to train to see if it works :I Edited by MHC, Jun 8 2014, 09:31 AM.

The 3 Sceptiles (or whatever that uses the Leaf blade move all over the screen) I know I'm supposed to dodge it, but if I do, they will get past without Roaring Roaring them earlier accidentally let a Torterra through, and everything after that just went crazy |

Hmm, I thought the Sceptiles could be taken out fairly easily. I ganged up and took out one at a time and then if the blades came across, moved to the others that the blades had already passed. I think the 1st Sceptile turned up while I was taking the Torterra out but they were done once the 3 Sceptiles turned up. |

Hey! When you are finished with the 3 Round and you talk to gold he says that he is going to battle someone called 'Darkness', could that be the final battle in the world tournament ? I can't figure out how to post a picture, but you can check it yourself

Nice MHC. So whats that then, 4 battles. So this supposed "world tournament" has only 16 competitors? Practical for the game but disappointing still. Somehow our player has qualified for, not a even regional but a WORLD tournament, simply just by beating 8 gym leaders. And this mere achievement has vaulted them into the top 16 in the world? And so far this includes no Elite 4? How have the Champions, other characters like Red, not progressed further and can they not easily beat the very Gym Leaders they had to win against in order to get their prestigious rank? And Marc, I dont know then. Maybe try Fire Blast with Arcanine? Thats really all I can say. With that setup you've got I won Rd3 pretty easily. |

There are many examples: Scizor Gyarados Xatu Gengar Rhyperior Dragonite Togekiss Lapras is generally not strong enough for eg venusaur/ serpine (probably good for torterra) |

my strategy for round 3 is to straight overpower cilan i use baton pass n 2 fire blast still convenient way to go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmFmoKFDN94&list=UUu-aQfpjQnjz6T8VI1IQjsQ any1 got a strategy that works for current roark shuckle power trick doesnt seem to be effective 400def should make the highest attack of any pokemon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Battle Rule for the final round is that you can only bring one pokemon! Each type will learn a new move at level 110! Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon. based on the pokemon's main type Edited by kroateon, Jun 11 2014, 01:23 AM.

With Shuckle - you might be right, the boost does seem significant but not as high as it should be. Only reason I noticed was because it doesnt work as well with Aegislash. At first I thought it was just stuffing up working with the Stance Change ability but now that you've said it, maybe it is Power Trick that's bugged? And uhhh, another update with non-storyline parts and yet still no thick club! Sorry, its just something i really really really want for my Marowak |

Anyone got the TMs? I'm trying out the Arcanine strategy, but I can get my hands on an arcanine with Fire blast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7a5qN-odsI Here's my strategy. I think it's not that hard to use given the abundance due to mystery gifts and stuff. Still thinking of an only-wild-caught-pokemon team. Well something other than pure boosting. Although Helping hand does boost att and sp att, it's not as cheap as quiver dance or after you xP Edited by Marc, Jun 11 2014, 10:04 AM.

PTD2 1.68.5 World Tournament Finals - vs Darkness (Shadow Type) Add more pokemon for adoption (0%) New Level 110 moves (0%) - Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, etc.w Getting to this round unlocks a new level cap to 110 (0%) - After you beat Round 3, Prof Elm learns that pokemon can now level up to 110! I've always wanted to up the level cap from 100 to something higher ever since PTD1. I think this is a great chance to do this. In PTD2 you could get to level 100 from the beginning so there was never an update that included a new level cap. The fact that this fight only lets you bring 1 pokemon means that it's optional to level up your other pokemon. At level 110 pokemon will be able to learn special moves usually reserved for the move tutor, like Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon. Each type will learn a new move at level 110! New TM for getting to Round 3 (0%) - (Let me know if any of these are TMs already on twitter!) Roar (0%) Bulldoze (0%) Battle Rule (0%) - You can bring only one pokemon. It can be any type and have any type of attacks. New Attacks (0%) Darkness (0%) - Similar to Sunlight, there will be a meter that keeps track of the darkness of the fight. This meter starts at 0 and if it reaches 100 you become corrupted and you lose the fight. Celebi will pull you out just before that happens and bring you back to try the fight again (as he has been doing in the earlier fights when you lose). Unlike sunshine, weather effects won't change the amount of darkness. Darkness in this battle represents more like an aura rather than light. The way darkness will increase is by other enemies, either when they are present on the level or when you destroy them. Shadow Voltorb's Explosion (0%) - In spite of potentially hurting it's allies Voltorb will cause heavy damage to the enemy of whoever makes it faint. Defeating it will increase Darkness by 30%. Shadow Snorlax's Scared Thoughts (0%) - Snorlax is afraid of losing sleep so it greatly increases its defense and special defense up by 6 levels. Defeating it will decrease Darkness by 5%. Shadow ?????'s Deadly Gust (0%) - ????? will launch a slow moving gust that can hit any unit on the map except itself, it follows your unit all over the map. If your unit leaves the map the gust will stand still and wait for your return. Every time this gust hits a unit Darkness is increased by 1%. This gust will do damage based on the value of Darkness. If Darkness is 10% this Gust will do 10% of the target's health in damage. (If Darkness is 0% the gust will do 1% damage). Shadow Misdreavus's Self Images (0%) - Every once in a while Misdreavus will create 2 other clones of itself with low health and high speed. Defeating the clones will reduce Darkness by 5%. Defeating the original will increase Darkness by 20%. Shadow Wobbuffet's Counter Spin (0%) - Wobbuffet will stop and start spinning, while spinning all hits on Wobbuffet will be reflected back at it's attacker. Each hit reflected will decrease Darkness by 5%. Defeating Wobbuffet will increase Darkness by 5%. |

I believe it's glitched. Firstly when Voltorb explodes, it deals no damage to your towers. Sometimes, when a Voltorb explodes, your tower ends up killing itself with something that looks like Muk's Gas from PTD1. This is more prone during later waves (Started happening at Wave 9 for me, stopped at wave 11 and thoroughly killed itself during Wave 13) |

Although sometimes few glitches occur, I've managed to find a winning strategy: - When Snorlax ordes appear, make the vortex kill few of them ( just few), then wait for the Voltorb to come and then kill It ( Its explosion will destroy every Snorlax and completely reset the darkness). - When Wobbuffett appear, kill them as fast as possible ( before they start spinning). - When Misdreavus appear, kill Its clones two times before killing the Misdreavus Itself ( If the amount of darkness is low, in wave 10 and 11 you can kill Its clones just one time). - When you have the chance, hit the Dark Lugia in order to lower Its hp ( but not too much, otherwise you will kill It and lose the match). To beat this level I've used a Xerneas, but I think a Volcarona would be good as well. Edited by jacktell, Jun 22 2014, 09:31 AM.

The "Muk Gas" comes if you reach 100%. Since voltorb explodes to give +30%, it is VERY likely to reach 100%. This round needs some calculation. Nice idea here! ![]() It takes vortex two hits to kill a snorlax. So, it gives -3% for each snorlax. You can really cover for the +30% by voltorb explosion? I beat this level with Lucario. Alright, this was easier than I thought. Upon understanding the full concept of Shadow (I didn't read Sam's blog), I have beat it with the following pokemon. 1) Xerneas 2) Volcarona 3) Mew 4) Houndoom |

Also won with Alakazam and Scizor A bit easy when you know what to do, but still a fun puzzle to work out. This is the kind of level I've been looking forward to. |
