I think these look great! Maybe a better picture of volcarona though cause there's a bit of pixelation below the eye. Also I think the contrast on the bottom one looks better |

LOVE the quality! Looks like you keep getting better at this, Marc! Congratz!Version-2 is my favourite. ^.^ Nice and dark (comparatively), good for the eye. |

Perhaps, you should clarify what's the differences are? I can barely tell that the second one is darker. On that note, both are pretty good. However, I feel that the 1st, lighter one is overall better. The second one feels like the contrast is off and the darker shades seem to detract rather than add to the banner. |

Agree with Starf. I still can't find any difference other than that white glow on the first one. Also I would suggest you don't start with a stock picture. Start with a blank background then blur and mess around with the render to make a nice background instead. This develops your skills and lets you know what makes what look like good or what makes what like bad. Starting instantly with stock means that you are limited. Mess around with noise, the artistic styles, and even the render options. It looks nice, but seems to be a bit too simply I want to say. I appears that you simply put a bunch of pictures in front of each other and changed layer options (other than the white glow which I assume was white paintbrush set to either overlay or screen). Now there isn't anything wrong with this, my most liked sig on deviantart is also my simplest and just 2 pictures on top of each other and the top one set to overlay. So I would suggest you mess around a bit more. |

The first one has a light glow, which was done by blurring volcarona and smudging, editing the lightness and contrast, then setting the opacity to about 70% The second one has a slightly blurred background and the opacity of the 2nd Volcarona layer is scaled down, so the pattern is more apparent on it It was actually harder than just putting a bunch of stock pictures over each other. The background color started off with a radial glow (red), blurred a bit and smudged to make it not as apparent. Some of the lines were made by thin overlayed rectangles (White to grey gradient) and I played with light a bit. Alright, I'll play around with brushes and blurring next time. I just thought this would be fun to make ;D Anyway thanks for all the feedback ;D Edited by Marc, Oct 23 2014, 02:13 AM.
