Alright.

There are 4 trainers. Two of which you have to stop from getting candy, two others whose pokémon you must evade to get the candy yourself. On top of that, there are 3 wild Pokémon areas without candy.

Upon entrance.

*Go Left - Wild Pokémon (10 waves)
*Go Right - Trainer you must beat. Has a rather fast Gyarados and non-threatening Geodude. By far the hardest thing in this cave (aside from the large Onix)
*Go up
*Go up (1) or Go Right (2)

(1)Room: Trainer you must evade. Uses Butterfree with string shot, Machop with a Fighting Move and a Pidgeot with Whirlwind. Just spam 4 Pokémon at once will do the trick
* Go up: crossroads (3)

(2)Room: Wild Pokémon (20 waves)
*Go up: Wild Pokémon (30 waves)
*Go left - crossroads (3) or go up (4)

(4) Room: trainer you must evade: Uses a Geodude, Machop and Onix. Any sufficiently fast Pokémon with Agility can outrun their attacks.
*Go left: Rubble room (5)
*Go left: Trainer you must beat: Uses only Onix and Golems. Water attacks and Grass attacks will own them beyond repair.
*Go down: crossroads (3)

From the crossroads you can go left to the ending of the level.

About the Pokémon waves. You will meet with a random Pokémon group when you enter the room. This will mean that about 90% of the Pokémon in the upcoming wave will be those Pokémon. The Pokémon you can meet are
- Zubat waves
- Geodude waves
- Machop waves
- Voltorb waves
- Onix waves

If you want the large Onix to appear. You need to have beat all 4 trainer rooms and 3 wild Pokémon wave rooms. The Onix will appear at the rubble room inbetween the 2 Hiker trainers (5). The large Onix have a rather high attack power so be prepared. I used an Iron Defense'd, Hydro Pumping Blastoise, a Nasty Plot, Bubblebeam Persian and a Whirlwinding Fearow. The added defense is necessary as the Onix can 2HKO your towers. I lost the level the first time. Alternatively, Giga Drain or Synthesis/Petal Dance Venusaur might work as well.

The old man will then appear at the beginning of the level. His challenge:
- Show him a level 42 Pikachu and Electrode
- Catch 10 Pikachu in one sitting without closing the game

Wild shiny Pokémon in this level have a level beyond compare. I caught a level 40 wild, shiny Geodude.
That's about everything.

Yeah, done them both now.
Giant Onix:
Getting a level 42 Pikachu is a good investment either way. Sam mentioned held items would be included soon, which means that Raichu might be soon outclassed by the infinitely better Light Ball Pikachu.

Just saying.

So are you suppose to capture 10 Pikachus all in the same place? For example, say you caught one at Viridian Forest 1 and caught another one at Viridian Forst 2 (without closing the game), would that count as two??

Yes it would count as 2. Just don't close out of the game and your home free!

What I meant was, on which map do they show up more often? Because on VF1, most of the time they have blue bars so you can't catch them.
