1) Vaporion! IMO the single best pokemon in tower defense. Vaporion boasts impressive all around capability. Vaporion has high health and special attack stats. These allow vaporion to take and dish out beatings. To fill the Utility role vaporion can learn both roar and helping hand. Helping hand is essential to any team as it greatly improves attack and special attack for the rest of the party. Roar is a whirlwind effect making vaporion a great last man of the gauntlet as he can send survivors back through. Vaporion also has the highest special attack of any water pokemon currently in the game. This make him the best user of bubblebeam currently in the game. Vaporion also has access to the ability Aqua Ring healing himself 1/16 of his hp per turn. This allows him to tank most challenges without needing to retreat or consume potions. 2) Magneton! IMO the most powerful nuker in the game! Magneton is capable of clearing most challenges unassisted by spamming discharge. Discharge does an incredible amount of damage due to magneton's high special attack in combination to its already high power and rapid fire rate. It also can cause paralysis. Magneton can also learn rest to regen some of his health without the use of potions. Magnet rise can allow magneton to evade ground attacks which allows him to be used with earthquake users. Being steel and electric types makes magneton very resistant to most attacks providing great survivability. 3) Charizard! The flying nuke! Charizard is not only the strongest fire special user in the game, he also a flyer making him able to be used with earthquake users! Fire Blast is an incredible tool on maps with offering perpendicular firing positions as you can fire blast entire waves multiple times. Charizard can also learn rest to regain hp and roar to whirlwind enemies. He is also one of the strongest hyperbeam users in the game for opponents resistant to fire. 4) Jynx! She's as cold as ice! Jynx is currently the strongest blizzard user in the game. She is also the only pokemon in the game with the move fake tears which shreds special defense allowing her and others to blow through even the toughest special sponges. She can also learn rest to recover hp and physic for opponents resistant to ice attacks. 5) Alakazam! The mage of pokemon! Alakazam is the most powerful special user in the game. period. With a special attack of 135 he has no rivals. Physic can 1 or 2 shot most mobs in the game and is super effective against most of the common trash mobs. He is also the premier hyperbeam user in the game. He can learn recover or rest to regain hp and reflect to support his team. 6) Golem! Keep rollin rollin rollin! Golem is the only non-flying physical damagers I'd suggest using and the key to his power is bulldoze. Bulldoze is an incredibly powerful AoE attack with a 100% chance to slow and hit (except flyers). The slow is very substantial making him a great first man in a gauntlet. He can also learn stealth rock a powerful rock attack that hits all who pass over it (super effective against flyers). Also, explode has a few niche uses. He can also learn rest to regain hp/ 7) Dragonite! The earthshaking dragon! Dragonite is a very very powerful flyer with a massive attack stat. This makes him the premier earthquake user in the game. While the tactic is incredibly boring, it is also ridiculously powerful in levels that lack fliers. Dragonite can also learn rest to gain hp, and dragon tail, a whirlwhind effect that also does impressive amounts of damage. He can also learn thunderpunch to counter the fliers which are immune to earthquake. Using these 7 pokemon is possible to trounce every challenge and level in the game. Every trainer should have one of each of these. I would suggest leveling up 2 charizards, and 4 dragonites. Enjoy! |
