A meeting place for budding gardeners (see what I did there?) These members must have great green thumbs. Joining is simple: Just post in here once. Simple as that. If someone could make a signature for this club, it would be highly appreciated. |

Well, we can start by saying what we are currently growing in our garden/NO I DONT WANT A KITCHEN garden and people can say if they worked hard on it themselves or it was done by someone else. Just a suggestion.

Well, my kichen garden used to have tomato plants and many more. But now, I mainly grow inedible plants there because vegetable plants tend to get infected with pests easily. I wonder if there are natural ways to avoid pests without having to use the artificial means like pesticides and everything. :/ |

I suppose so... But all I really did was start it and request a signature... I didn't actually like talk or anything... But still, though... I'm conflicted on whether I deserve this or not. |

Flowers would be it! ^.^ But my most favourite was a special dark green plant. Oh, it's still in my eyes. The ventral part of the leaf used to be purple in colour and the dorsal, dark green. The leaves were long and pointed and arranged uh.. What was that word.. Well, it's opposite to parallel arrangement. The plant was short and could fit in a medium-sized pot easily. At its base you could see something like a taproot, it looked like a big radish from which roots grew down. ^.^ The plant is capable of hybernating for a few months during which it cannot be seen at the ground level. But, if you dug the ground, you could find the radish-like root. When I saw that for the first time, I thought it was it's seed. The plant was so sweet. < 3 I would know as I watched it grow and it immensely impressed me by what it was capable of doing, like magic. Alas, one day when it wouldn't grow back to the ground level, I lost faith and dug it out. I don't remember what happened after that, whether I had made a mistake or something else had happened u.u but, after that day, it wouldn't grow again... You could find me being the saddest at that point. I never found a plant as good as that one again. I searched many nurseries, but did not find a plant close to it. That plant was beautiful. I don't even know it's name but, it's one of my treasured memories. ^.^ Or it could also be that over the years, I have infatuated over it and now, it is a vague childhood memory lurking as an exaggeration on my mind. I wonder if I can find it on the net to show to you guys... Cannot findit in stores these days. Ah! Here it is: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS9g1eCVlzhymNkOxS0y33LMmgewG_VhvzAxnBDOvIsdMEZWqltcgDo note, it IS different from a normal green plant. ^.^ Apart from that, I personally feel, my plant looked better than the one in the messy picture above. :/ Edited by Master Snowy, Mar 12 2013, 05:32 PM.

Such a sad story... Poor Snowy... D: The only plant story I can think of was when I was about seven. I went with my family to a pumpkin chucking thing. I didn't want to choose a pumpkin because I thought it would have been mean to the pumpkin (come on, I was only seven). But I chose one all the same. But as I was walking to the machine, I saw what looked like a tear leak from the stem. I am still sad from that. |

D: Aw man... As kids we've all had extra-special sense towards others' feelings everything. ^.^ That's very nice. But, don't worry about it. It's the cycle of life, it's what is true. In actual, only the plant has life, cutting the fruit from it causes no harm. ^.^ So we can relax on that, right? :') |

I suppose I was a bit gooberish then. Honestly, it would have prefered that... Considering that it is a fruit and all.

Snowy, let me begin by saying that I am very impressed by your knowledge of botany. How old are you? In any case, I found your story to be very touching. I'm quite glad that you found the plant that you so fondly treasured in your childhood. I once tried to grow a pineapple when I was a child. My parents had cut up a Pineapple and I took the crown and buried it and watered it for about two months, hoping to grow a pineapple plant. I got nothing. So I foolishly tried to do the same with a coconut, hoping to grow a palm tree lol....that never happened. I was so disappointed in both. |
