Let's Talk About Transaction Topics

Hey everyone,

Lately I have been noticing transactions whose titles contradict their forms in the Transactions forum.

People are titling their transactions with "XMember > YMember", whereas their forms will mark "YMember" as the Buyer (the one giving money), and "XMember" as the Seller. (the one receiving money)

This is in fact wrong, and extremely confusing for us staff members.
You see, this forum is all in relation to the money; not whatever you are exchanging.

A properly-made transaction would be filled out like so:
Title - "XMember > YMember"
Seller: (who's receiving the money) YMember
Buyer: (who's giving the money) XMember

I will make an honest effort to figure out who is actually giving and who is receiving, but I'm bound to make a mistake with these.
However from now on, any mislabeled transactions I see, I will be rejecting them until the two can fill out a proper one.

Thank you for your time,

Just out of curiosity, if in the transaction form you specify who is the buyer and who is the seller, how is It possible to get confused about who giving and who is receiving? After saying so, since I was one of the people who used to make this kind of mistake, from now on I'll be more careful about It.

Because the topic title contradicts this.
For one thing, the title is the first thing we see.

And, you can't be sure if there was a mistake made with the title or the form.
Or which it is that the topic maker knows how to do correctly. Despite the information given in the form.

Ah okay; I didn't think about It. Thanks for clarifying.

I've always made the mistake of making the title just say what I am selling. So I wasn't confused, just totally wrong.... I guess I'll try it that way for the future.

In order to avoid this kind of problem in the future, why don't you or another moderator pin in the Forum Market place a topic, reaffirming what you've just written? It could help users not to make this mistake.

We do have a topic with a guide to making transactions, although I don't think it covers titles...

Either way, I don't think it's up to me whether this should be added or not.

Maybe a title with more words will be better. like "From Pika Pi Pikachu to Sonic Blader" would be more useful and easily help the moderator understand. It will also have very little room for error!

Especially if you add "money" so that it would be "Money From Pika Pi Pikachu to Sonic Blader"

Well the topics in the forum marketplace all involve transaction of money. So it would not make much sense to add that but more info is better!

The reason I thought to add that is because (as stated as the original problem above) some people right it that way as the transaction of the Pokemon. If people wrote the word money, then the confusion between money and Pokemon would be eliminated almost entirely (if not entirely).

Thats also a good point. The naming of the topic should be properly named.

Well, if the direction is right then the "from" is a little redundant, and I feel specifying might make people think there are different manners of transactions in terms of the title. X D But hey, do it however you want to.
