Prepare to be amazaed

I just dusted off the old brain of mine and thought I would at least have a crack at making the forum better :p I was thinking about an idea where you can choose to "Follow" A member. I was thinking maybe whenever a person you are following makes a topic then you get a notification or pop up type thing whenever you reload the page (Like when you receive a pm) And it says that whoever your following has made a topic, with the title and if you click on the pop up it takes you to the link. There's probably a lot more that could be done with this And I'm not sure if this is even possible but it would be pretty cool

Would be interesting, but it's only useful for tracking when a person posts new topics. If you want to track thread updates, you can just subscribe to the thread :/ |

To subscribe: Click "Track Topic" (Found on the bottom of the page for me) To check on the last time the topic updated, just click "Preferences" at the top. A list of the topics you're tracking will come up, as well as the last time any person posted. |

As starf pointed out, there's an option to track a topic, rather than following a person... I'll chdck if there's a script that makes it possible to follow someone; but in all honesty... Don't get you hopes up ;P Im sceptical to the possibility of this (as most things that incorporate zeta-functions combinef with a thirs party-script don't work properly ).

Sounds great. but i dont like that you will be informed every time the person has made a post, topic.... it will start to get annoying in my opinion and i might un follow the person. But, if there is a notification page where all your notifications go rather than getting these sort of pm type i would use it . If the notification page had a icon, near the sotw icon it would be cool. But what i think will be the killer feature is that every time you get a notification the icon says +1 and it will go up for each notification you get.

I'd rather not promote stalking on the forums. |
